Workshops that turn knowledge into action!
Each year, we develop new educational content ...to raise awareness among children about the dangers of plastic pollution and the importance of protecting the oceans. In 2025, we visited eight schools in southern Thailand.
What was this year's workshop theme? Endangered Marine Species in the Andaman Sea. Protection of the ocean requires knowledge and understanding of it.
A workshop day is a clever mix of learning and games. The team quiz activity is always a huge hit with the kids, so it deserves a special mention.

How do you teach around 2,000 children each year to manage waste responsibly?
Through ...Waste Banks! At each of our six partner schools, students bring their recyclables and hand them over to the "Green Team," a group of trained student volunteers who manage the banks.
Every action matters: bringing recyclables, cleaning the school, and promoting nature protection. All of these efforts are rewarded with stamps in a personal logbook. The logbook recognizes each child's commitment and motivates them to become true "Guardians of the Sea."
The collected waste is purchased from the school and enters the recycling stream.
It's a simple system that turns children into agents of change while cleaning up their environment. 🌊

Save the Ocean Day, a day to celebrate our Guardians of the Sea
Last January, around 100 students from our partner schools were welcomed by Koh Chang School to celebrate our annual Save the Ocean Day.
This year the celebration took the form of a festive competition: welcome to the Ocean Games!
Teams from different schools happily competed in challenges devised by the Ranong Recycle team, including relay races, giant tic-tac-toe, a knock down cans game and a quiz on the content of our workshops.
The highlight? A unique fashion show in which the children presented outfits made entirely from waste. Their creativity and dedication amazed us!
At the end of the day, golden tickets were given to children who volunteered for the waste banks and to those who collected the most stamps in their logbooks.
These tickets allow them to join the school trips we organize every year.

Much more than an environmental program
Through regular visits to our partner schools, our Ranong Recycle team has established trusting relationships with the teaching staff. This enables us to swiftly identify the children's needs.
We provide access to drinking water, food, clothing, hygiene products, and building renovations. Our actions address the daily emergencies these children face.
These island and coastal schools receive little attention. Thanks to the close relationships established through our environmental program, we can provide valuable assistance when needed.
However, we need your help to continue. Your donations enable us to provide these children with a healthy, learning-conducive environment.
