Suksamran

Suksamran district is located in the south of Ranong city. Bordered by the Andaman Sea and home to Laem Son National Park, an area rich in ecosystems that need to be protected from plastic pollution. The many fishing villages make it an ideal location to support the collection of abandoned fishing nets and ropes.

By buying these nets from the fishermen, we prevent them from reaching the sea. Our partner the Environmental Justice Foundation, initiator of the “Net Free Seas” program, supported this project by funding the construction of a storage facility for plastic waste on the property of our project leader, Khun Jiab.
